Is runny or undercooked eggs safe during pregnancy?

Considered fine in a normal, healthy pregnancy.

Eggs with the British Lion stamp are safe to eat runny or raw. Eggs without the stamp, or non-hen eggs, should be cooked until solid.

Avoid

Official guidance is to steer clear during pregnancy.

Cook eggs until the yolks and whites are firm. Avoid runny, poached, or undercooked eggs and foods made with raw egg, which can carry salmonella.
